Weird thoughts while visiting THE LAKE behind Randall Manor

The pleasant view of the lake behind my Randal Manor building. First time I spotted a boat on the lake. Is the lake healthy for aquatic life ? Turtles are tough survivors in less than ideal ecology. How deep is the lake ? I wonder. What would I find there as an underwater explorer ? Beneath the above the surface beauty a film noir horror show ? The Creature From the Black Lagoon looking for its first unsuspecting victim ? The Frankenstein monster peeping through the Fall colored shrubbery at the innocent little girl playing some kid game just in front of him. The dumb giant fiend will grab the girl and throw her into the dark cold deep part of the lake just to see if she too can float ! Then the monster remembers a promise to his cruel maker : " I will be with you on your wedding night ". When I was a kid in the 1950s I watched a lot of horror movies. Like " The Curse of Frankenstein " , " The Day the World Ended " and " X-the Unknown ". Not too late on this fine Sunday afternoon to take a walk in nearby ST. Ann's Cemetery . Take a photo of my favorite grave stone with the inscription : " As I Am You Will Be ! ". Halloween is coming soon. Returning in the Dark from St. Ann's I pass a ghoulishly decorated " Haunted House " ,across from Umberto's Italian Kitchen , with an open invitation to a " Night of the Living Dead Celebration " at 3:00 AM on October 31. Afterward a macabre caravan to the ruined , vandalized and desecrated Roger Williams Park Mausoleum. Bring your sleeping bag, the note say. And blessed " Holy Water " from the lake. Blessed by the disgraced parish priest, Father Lazarus just before he committed suicide. Having scared myself into the Big Chill , I will read by candle light at midnight the Latin Vulgate version of the " Book of Revelation " hoping for an end to all these sleepless nights. The squeaking of the mice in the Randal Manor walls is giving me the creeps. Even the screaming of a mouse caught in the trap " glue " sounds so pathetic and hellish. " Lord, have mercy…Christ, have mercy…Lord, have mercy!” I had to step on it with my bare feet just to stop the hideous screaming ! NOTE : Why did Frankenstein throw the girl in the lake? [ " She asks him to play a game with her in which they toss flowers onto a lake. The Monster enjoys the game, but when he runs out of flowers, he throws Maria into the lake, inadvertently drowning her. With preparations for the wedding completed, Henry is happy with Elizabeth." ]
