The most grievous moral failure of the post-Vatican II Catholic Church was to virtually bless Israeli Zionism. Ironically the vast majority of educated Jews today REJECT the religion of their past. But they also reject the secular " religion " of their more recent past. The McCarthy era in the United States " unmasked " many prominent Jewish professionals including actors and writers as having ties to the Moscow oriented American Communist Party . In the past few decades it is rare to find even a few Jewish voices for socialism. Today most educated Jewish professionals are closer to Ayn Rand Thought . Rand was both a fanatical atheist and a vicious Zionist . She did not believe at all in Old Testament " Chosen People " mythology. But she did believe in " The Virtue of Selfishness " and the right of superior Jews to displace inferior Palestinians in 20th century Israel. Today these elite educated ZIONIST Jews consider TRUE BELIEVER Christian Zionists ,who have apocalyptic visions of the Holy Land, as the proverbial useful idiots. Oddly enough , a considerable number of formerly communist-socialist -now ZIONIST - Jews have discovered that " socialism is anti-Semitic " .
