A letter I wrote in defense of Catholic Bishop Tobin was published in yesterday's Providence Journal. I am very much ON THE LEFT in my political views but I have observed with dismay the continuous attacks on religious liberty in the United States and the implacable hostility to the Catholic Tradition in Western Civilization voiced by neo-liberal " identity politics " fanatics.
My restrained observation here got me banned from the World Socialist Web Site after being smeared as their " resident Catholic , anti-Semite , fascist ". But anyway I have always been an independent soul. So Catholic = Fascist on the sectarian Left ?
To exile " God " from " OUR democracy " is to invite moral chaos.
Today's neo-liberalism can hardly acknowledge TRUTH and objective reality.
Among Catholics that I know I find no malignant " hate " whatever in contrast to what I witness among " liberal " Democrats so bitter over President Trump's 2016 election victory.
