One rarely mentioned problem with the present mess of a health care
system is that medical doctors , specialists, and dentists feel " free "
( thank God for " freedom " ! ) to turn away - right in the office-
Medicare and Medicaid patients needing immediate care.
A neighbor on
Medicaid had a number of teeth extracted. He was taking a blood stained
pillow into the dumpster. His dentist told him to try to find an oral
surgeon as he had a " hole in his gums " - which led to liquids pouring
out of his nose.
Our " liberal " governor in Rhode Island , Gina Raimondo ",
has been getting praise for her Medicaid cutbacks- " better care for
less " !
My neighbor explained that the state was getting
negligent on Medicaid payments. Did I know any oral surgeons that take
Medicaid ?
My only thought : this poor man should go a hospital emergency center.
We are long way from health care as a basic human right .
And why should not ANY health care plan include dental care ?
