Ivy League campuses lack the spirit of the old SDS

I never met ANY working class person with an instinctive rejection of the ideals of socialism. The materialist theory of history would explain that class privilege blinds even good and bright individuals to enlightenment here.

In the same way, we do not expect Protestant TV evangelists to embrace Darwinism or to stop preaching the Gospel of Wealth. As Marx said : " social being determines social consciousness ".

Nine out of ten relatively privileged individuals in capitalist society have no economic motive to change the economic order. Nine out of ten working class individuals would definitely vote socialist - if not inhibited by ruling class lies and propaganda.

Do you think the ruling class owned mainstream new media would encourage or sponsor a debate on the rationality of capitalism ?

Would ANY Ivy League university ? I am amazed how timid and insipid , for example, is the Brown Daily Herald. The student staff could use a little more of the spirit of the old SDS ( Students for a Democratic Society ) .
