problem is neither excuse nor defense for his vicious, violent and
unprovoked attack on a defenseless woman. He should be prosecuted to the
full extent of the law. This guy needs to be locked up permanently so
he cannot randomly attack others. No one is safe on the street with him
loose.

Even if she is a " drunk ", that is no excuse for her being homeless ?
In the same way American judges sentence mentally ill people to death because they still know right from wrong. Really ? A damaged brain is no excuse ?
Any woman living with a drunk knows that ANYTHING can set off a violent rage.
My point is that brain damaged by alcohol is a factor in this attack on a homeless woman living in her van. Sommer will have his day in court.God help him .
