For weeks now my mail box at Randal Manor, 75 Mathewson St. Cranston , for APT. B216 has been damaged. I am unable to secure the door and lock it with my key. I left a note this morning : " PLEASE FIX" Citizen Bank recently sent me their monthly account statement . Also sent was a new debit card. No , the mail was not late . It was stolen. Just who is responsible for fixing the mail box ? It does seem that customer service everywhere has become rude and lethargic and often down right incompetent. RIPTA bus service now demands EXACT CHANGE - which means there is no more ONE DOLLAR TRANSFERS. So I have to pay $8:00 per day to go back and forth to the Cranston Public Library. If you don't have the exact change the always charming RIPTA driver ( seriously ! ) might call the police if you dare board the bus anyway. So let me buy a cheap donut downtown. DUNKIN is too busy. So I go next door to a more upscale coffee shop. I see a cheap ( ? ) plain donut through the glass. The girl rings it up . " $ 3.76 ". Forget it, I said. This time I am lucky enough to have just enough dimes and nickels in my spacious winter coat pocket. So I could end losing ten dollars just for my daily visits to local public libraries. A few years ago that much money would have commanded CAB SERVICE ! I remember I need quarters to do my laundry in the Randal Manor community laundry room - where you are lucky if two washing machines and two dryers are functional ( for the whole building ? ) I once lost 4 dollars in quarters before realizing that the washing machine was broken and WILL NOT RETURN MY QUARTERS . Forget about calling THE COMPANY ! One CITIZENS BANK said they had no quarters. The Kennedy Plaza Citizens Bank made me use my bank debit card for a roll of quarters. Back at the bus stop a homeless man asked for money. I told him I had no change to spare. QUARTERS are precious and I do need ALL those dollars as RIPTA no longer gives you those change cards . Too bad for the Kennedy Plaza homeless beggars ! Back at Randal Manor I notice the garbage truck has another NO SHOW day. . When it does show up it routinely refuses to pick up garbage bags not in the container -which is too stuffed. And this is not without consequence as I spot a RAT trap. And I am disgusted with the number of cigarette butts strewn on the property . THE SIGN SAYS : " WE ARE PROUD TO BE A NO SMOKING FACILITY . THINGS ARE FALLING APART IN USA -APRIL 2022 !
