Former director of the R.I. Department of Corrections A.T. Wall dies at 72 [ Any Rhode Island citizen should have the right to an investigative visit to the ACI any day of the week ]

Will any future director of the R.I. Department of Corrections have Dickensian humanist ideas on how to make the dismal Rhode Island prison system less integrated into the world proclaimed scandal called the " American Gulag " ? Years ago I got stories about the ACI jungle from my two brothers, Richard and Robert , who were ACI guards for a few years before coming up in the world ( both passed away) . ANY Rhode Island citizen should claim the right to personally investigate conditions at the ACI , the situation of particular prisoners , any day of the week. No complaints from ACI prisoners should be muffled or fall on deaf ears. Released from prison , an individual should not be in any immediate danger of hunger and homelessness ( the path back to the prison in the manner of the famous O Henry short story : " The Cop and the Anthem " . Many years ago the famous American psychiatrist , Karl Menninger , wrote a mostly ignored book titled " The Crime of Punishment ". NOTE : Should the diet of ACI prisoners be hazardous to their health ? Should they not be entitled to read any books or periodicals or newspapers that might enlighten their minds ? ( All my You Tube comments are shared on my blog and Facebook page . I do not expect any mainstream news media in Rhode Island to show much sympathy for improving " life " at the ACI . To be sure, the Providence Journal is no more . Why do they even keep the name ? . Less hope for vacuous Rhode Island Talk Radio !
