As a longtime independent democratic socialist and pre-Vatican II type Roman Catholic I am well aware that we are centuries away from the Age of faith. No scientist or scholar today is a profile in courage because he mocks in public belief in God. But let them mock capitalism, American imperialism and Israeli Zionism. And see how secure their jobs really are.
