FULL: Bernie Sanders official response to Trump joint session speech

I like what I just read regarding " socialist " Democrat Bernie Sanders on the World Socialist Website : [" But the most insidious aspect of Sanders’ speech was his attempt to tie opposition to Trump to support for imperialist war—specifically, the US-NATO war against Russia in Ukraine. “For the first time in our 250-year history, we have a president who is turning his back on democracy and allying us with authoritarianism,” Sanders declared. “No. We must not abandon the people of Ukraine who were invaded by the Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin. We must always stand for democracy, not dictatorship.” What is Sanders talking about ? .... " ] [One of life's little ironies : Way back in 1980 both Bernie Sanders in Vermont and I ( and a woman named A. Gagne ) here in Rhode Island were presidential electors for then Trotskyist Socialist Workers Party . The SWP soon degenerated into a Jack Barnes circus personality cult ( and he's still running the show ! ). And the SWP, like Bernie, adapting to the agenda of Zionist APARTHEID Israel. ] I was back then in 1980 and remain in 2025 an INDEPENDENT democratic socialist free from ties to any dubious " vanguard " Marxist party. I see a the promise of SANE " socialism " only in a mass American Labor Party - like the British Labor Party but less stuffy and uncompromised. In 1976 one " notorious " ( according to then governor of California, Ronald Reagan ) American Trotskyist , Peter Camejo , was the SWP candidate for president of the United States. A group of friends and I helped get Peter on the ballot in Rhode Island. Peter Camejo later gravitated to Ralph Nader's Green Party ( serving as its candidate for vice-president, Nader for president ) . Still relevant is a speech a younger Peter Camejo made circa 1968 : " How to Make a Revolution in the United States " ( with no suggestion of guns, bombs, or violence ) .
