The world's great religions ALL preach : love God and love thy neighbor ! Despite all the hypocrisy . What does SCIENCE have to say about completely IRRATIONAL and murderous global capitalism , American imperialism, and Israeli Zionism ? In his book " The Demon Haunted World " Sagan relates how when visiting POST-COMMUNIST Russia he smuggled into the country copies of Leon Trotsky's ( also author of the classic anti-Stalinist book " The Revolution Betrayed " ) " History of the Russian Revolution " . As a long time independent democratic socialist myself ( more an Old Catholic than a " village atheist " ) I think the biggest mistake of the old Soviet Union was not SOCIALISM but making itself an " officially atheist " nightmare tyranny. Would the New Atheist cult roadshow celebs prefer that " OUR democracy " turn " officially atheist " but still remain pro-capitalist , pro- American imperialist , and pro-Israeli Zionist ? And place New Atheist club member astrophysicist , Neil de Grass Tyson, in charge of persecuting Old Catholics who publicly affirm their belief in the miracle of the " Holy Eucharist " ?
