From the point of view of most democratic socialists any really FREE human being should feel free to settle anywhere on the Good Earth. What complicates this fact is the existing vast system of mutually antagonistic nation-states with their " sacrosanct " mostly artificial borders. Apart from homo sapiens none of the millions of living species on the planet show any respect for nation-state borders. Will Trump insist that his border patrol Nazis confront the Monarch Butterfly ? The now quite jaded Catholic Church is still right in honoring its ancient belief that humans are all ONE in the " Mystical Body of Christ " . Or ONE in the DNA perspective of secular science. What is needed is a GLOBAL government in the Western Hemisphere . It would make possible a rational EQUILIBRIUM in population exchanges between different regions. Imagine that just as many Americans might enjoy living in Mexico as Mexicans might enjoy living in the United States. Are not modern states just vast prison systems for human beings ? When the ancestors of American Indians settled the North and South American continents many centuries ago there were no border patrol police to say " STOP ! " .
