Inspired from youth by Albert Camus' sense of the Absurd, I try to be a voice for REASON in the growing darkness and moral insanity of global capitalism .

D Day - World War II veteran father, Domenic Ruggieri , recalled his Army " service " in North Africa and fallen Italy 1944-1945
What is morally repulsive today in 2023 is using the stale Wilsonian blather of past wars ( always " make the world safe for democracy " ) to pretend that proxy war with Russia in Ukraine is all about saving a " sovereign " nations. American imperialism does give the puffed up NATO hero , war monger V. Zelensky BILLIONS in military weapons so that it is FREE to go its own way , not only FREE from Russia but also FREE from American imperialism and " Greater Israel " Zionism.
American History and " OUR democracy " are not all about a glorious patriotic struggle for TRUTH , JUSTICE , and the AMERICAN WAY . The corrupt mainstream news media in the United States will never " sell " nuclear World War III with POST-COMMUNIST Russia to working class CHRISTIANS in the United States.
My dear father's grave stone in Saint Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Cranston, Rhode Island has inscribed on it : US ARMY WORLD WAR II " . Pop did not talk much about the " GOOD WAR ", being in an anti-aircraft division in North Africa. But he never indulged in fatuous Fourth of July jingoism. What US soldier, Domenic Ruggieri of Providence Rhode Island ( Italo-American Federal Hill neighborhood ) was proud to recall was using his Italian language skills to get fresh , tasty food food for his hungry Army buddies in some village in Italy then occupied by the triumphant US Army. That memory was confirmed by the owner of Antonio's Restaurant in Knightsville , Cranston. I think Antonio passed away . But I met him at a family funeral collation there.
Memories of " The Way We Were " 1944- 1945.
