D Day - World War II veteran father, Domenic Ruggieri , recalled his Army " service " in North Africa and fallen Italy 1944-1945

My dear father's grave stone in Saint Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Cranston, Rhode Island has inscribed on it : US ARMY WORLD WAR II " .
