The most pathetic thing about homeless people is their living meaningless , purposeless lives !

None of the " progressive " Democrats seem to connect the hopelessness of the homeless in richest country on earth with the FOR PROFIT cruelty of the capitalist system. There seems to be no way to adequately house the homeless without making some capitalist landlord richer! I am a long time independent democratic socialist but even here I can envision some pragmatic NEW DEAL thinking : They can begin by introducing rational authoritarianism to the problem. Before imposing " hardship" on the landlord class, commandeer vast , mostly abandoned FEDERAL GOVERNMENT property in land and buildings. Thousands of homeless people -almost overnight - can be moved to military barracks and begin to live a more civilized life : clean beds , hot showers , a decent cafeteria for breakfast , lunch, and dinner. With mental health care , addiction treatment , and JOB TRAINING . A new appreciation for the LAW & ORDER demanded by any civilization. Decades ago the reckless ( but well intentioned ! ) deinstitutionalization of the mentally is what brought us this humanitarian crisis today in the USA of 2022.
