Institutionalized racism is dead in the United States . Ambitious black politicians obsess on " identity politics " issues for self-promotion. They will never stray far from the Democratic Party nor will they ever cozy up to Bernie Sanders feckless " socialism ". For the vast majority of working class black Americans " identity politics " is a pandering , humbug fraud. If they never again hear the N-word spoken by white " deplorables " will that mean that Martin Luther King's top of the mountain vision of the Promised Land has been realized ? Is it practical anti-racism strategy to humiliate and ruin every bad day, bad mood white person who utters a racial slur ? When you make people nervous around you ( " will I say the wrong thing ? " ) you don't make good friends or good friendly neighbors. For centuries Christianity has preached " Love Thy Neighbor " . But the " progressive " Democratic Party is becoming openly contemptuous of Christianity . They want the " liberal " press and radio-TV media to be the secular JUST JUDGES of right thinking . One finds little TRUTH or respect for FACTS in their leader , the New York Times. It has very myopic , self-serving views of racism , prejudice , and hate speech. Call it ILLIBERAL LIBERALISM .
