Any two bit psychiatrist would ask a " paranoid " patient why he thinks so many people hate him. The same is true for the psychology of nation-states: People " hate " Israel because they are on a lower moral plane than smug, comfortable, often prosperous Zionist Jews in Israel or living with dual loyalties in the United States ? Or people " hate " Israel for its documented crimes against humanity ?
Ironically ACLU lawyers in the USA - many of them vociferous " friends of Israel " - direct the " legal " case against the religious liberty of devout Christians and conservative Catholics. The ORTHODOX religious Jews are more benign and understanding - except , of course, for public displays of malevolent neo-Nazism.
