We socialists presently lack power to do anything for desperate migrants . It is an old story . Caesar in Gaul more than two thousand years ago was alarmed by a horde of " barbaric " Helvetians . Caesar had a " final solution " which is abominable today.
What " solution " would be acceptable to the American working class ? Right now I see this as a challenge to the United Nations . If Honduras is that dysfunctional , then it is in need of a real " Good Neighbor " HELPING HAND . No country will let thousands defy border controls. It is naïve to idealize mass desperation - as if it were a Norman Rockwell scene.
I don't see how socialist zealots shouting " EQUALITY OR DEATH " will help matters here.
