You would think that the editorial page editors of American newspapers were mysteriously lobotomized in the subject of American History. Way back in that Other America of the early 1960s it was still possible -in a public high school- to get some TRUTH about our nation's history . The Civil Rights Movement and the Ban The Bomb movement demanded explanation for UNACCEPTABLE ( Robert Kennedy's favorite word, said one biographer ) evils not rooted in individual depravity usually called " sin ".
Now decadent American " liberalism " is decrying the sabotage of OUR " democracy " by " hate America " fiends in the Kremlin. The presidential campaigns of Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump in 2016 had as their themes the crisis of " Democracy in America ". Sanders did focus on extreme economic inequality . Trump wanted to " make America great again " with a toxic nationalism remedy.
But Hillary Clinton -surrounded by military brass and Wall St. billionaires and prominent American Zionists - blessed the status quo saying America IS great. She was then the " Queen of the Status Quo "- a complete turn off for most working class voters in the Rust Belt states.

This hypocritical lamenting of attacks on " OUR democracy " is a sickening indication of the complete moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the Democratic Party. If this party should become the OFFICIAL party of American " democracy " , how would it be any different from those third world dictatorships-like Chile under Pinochet after the CIA had " meddled " in the affairs of its elected president Salvadore Allende by supporting his assassination. Even back then the CIA was worried about " Russian influence " in exploding Latin America ?
The capitalist news media in the United States rarely mentions that Russia is now a CAPITALIST country ( with the help of the CIA in 1991 ). But it still fails to measure up to the high moral standards of James Comey - who just blessed the Democratic Party for the fall election.
As a democratic socialist I will bless the activist politics of the Socialist Equality Party ( SEP ) and the present campaign for a seat in Congress of Niles Niemuth in Michigan .
