I hope there are enough born again ACLU lawyers to respect FREE SPEECH rights for everybody. What the mainstream news media identifies as the generic LEFT has shown itself to be an insidious enemy of FREE SPEECH for decades now - ruining individuals - often with pure lies- not conforming to fatuous " identity politics " criteria for political correctness.
I can't imagine Christians in Rome wanting to smash every Nero statue in sight. The DEAD PAST should also command a measure of respect. I would never join any crowd foaming at the mouth over a Robert E. Lee statue.
Not everybody whom HISTORY judges to be ON THE WRONG SIDE was EVIL . As democratic socialist I deplore the arrogance of the phony neo-liberal war on " hate " - unconnected with any criticism of the capitalist economic system .
And don't stop any FREE SPEECH march - unless it declares itself to have violent intentions.
