As a longtime independent democratic socialist I am pleased to know that American imperialism and Israeli Zionism do not go unchallenged in the 21st century as a combined arrogant superpower ( made more arrogant by the collapse of the Soviet Union circa 1991 ) . Oddly enough, post-Communist Russia is still on American imperialism's list of " Axis of Evil " countries . But just where is the " communism " in Communist China ? It is as STALINIZED as the vanished Soviet Union and also " officially atheist " . How can any bright young Chinese scholar not see the disconnect between the classics of Marxism and how the corrupt, very much " capitalist " oriented , oligarchy rules the country ? Democratic socialists would support a real " socialist " political revolution in not -so-communist China ( without the meddling of US imperialism ) . If there is some real dialectical LOGIC to history, why would not " Communist " China implode from the top as did the Soviet Union in 1991 ? Anyway, not for more than a century has the working class of the world been the driving force behind political upheavals resulting in a Change of STATE . Despite the paranoia of the Neo-Nazi ZIONIST Jew regime in Washington , DC ( Trump promises to ban socialism and socialists from " OUR democracy " ) the level of " socialist " class consciousness in the United States is very low indeed. I suspect that the RELIGIOUS consciousness of humanity might play a greater role in really " progressive " social change than sadly ossified Marxist dogma and self-appointed " vanguard party " organizations . Indeed, the social philosophy of the Roman Catholic Church ( even the pre-Vatican II Catholic Church ) hardly resonates with " Greed is Good " capitalism .
