Today's headlines on the World Socialist Website do suggest that Marx' s " workers of the world" are congenitally defective precisely in their inability to unite and to react to their leadership ' s betrayal after betrayal. And for more than a century now!I suspect that some form of Christian Socialism might better succeed in tapping into the collective spirit not of class consciousness so much as the Catholic spirit of the Holy Ghost. We simply must have God on our side. Above we need not a squabbling bunch of sectarian Marxist vanguard party organizations but an American Labor Party like the British Labour Party but less stuffy and compromised. ( Otherwise capitalist wage slavery is as hopeless as ancient slavery.Until feudalism came along?)
