Mystery building spotted along Misquamicut Beach on a dark moonless night with Friend Dave and I temporarily lost in the fancy red rented car.As if things were not creepy enough soon after reorienting Dave was stopped by a Westerly cop for speeding with no insurance coverage on the rented car. For a moment I imagined us evicted from the rented car in the cold of the dark night.Hitchhike back to Providence? But LUCK won out. At midnight Dave called me to say he just got an eviction notice from the Arlington Housing Authority. I thought perhaps the dreaded nursing home will take him in.
