I am a 78 year old single man living on social security , Medicare and Medicaid in a modest studio apartment in the Randall Manor, building B , 75 Mathewson St. , under the Cranston Housing Authority. For more than 10 years I have received the maximum, or slightly less, SNAP benefits from the State of Rhode Island . After diligently filling out the last forms , I received NOTICE on March 2 that my benefits will be reduced starting next month to $40 .00 per month! How many senior citizens in Rhode Island have just had their SNAP benefits cut by nearly $200.00 in the HOPE State of Rhode Island . And just consider that food prices have nearly doubled in the past five years ! Or am I a special case ??? May I politely request an EXPLANATION here ? ( computer error or cold blooded , hard hearted bureaucrat butcher job - well rewarded ? I share this comment on my blog and Facebook Page and will send it as a letter to the editor of the Boston Globe and the Providence Journal.
