Hitchens, while vacuously bragging about the discovery of his Jewish grandmother, supported the disastrous George W. Bush war against and occupation of Iraq. He clearly supported capitalism , American imperialism , and Israeli Zionism. If there are any Marxist-Trotskyists among the New Atheism Cult they keep this as " classified information " . The mistaken militant atheism of the Marxist " vanguard party " was nevertheless put in the context of freeing the working class of the world from capitalist exploitation and oppression . That is clearly not the agenda of the New Atheism Cult evangelists bloviating daily on YouTube and social media. Christopher Hitchens' right wing re-orientation was clearly evident in his obnoxious Cult classic : " God Is Not Great -how religion poisons everything " . SCIENCE should be a lot less arrogant and less irreverent . The miracle of Creation is not exhausted with the discovery of the " God Particle ". I suspect we are closer to " The End of Science " ( read the book by Horgan ) than to " The End of Faith ".
