The American plutocracy has as strong a hold on " public opinion " as ever. As Karl Marx said long ago : " The ruling ideas are the ideas of the ruling class ". Nevertheless , as a long time independent democratic socialist I very much doubt if the plutocracy here can stir up toxic war fever with the usual Wilsonian blather that was false more than a century ago. Most likely, the " raging bull " multi-million herd of oppressed and exploited " proles " will stampede the American plutocracy into oblivion before World War III is a week old . That primal herd instinct for survival !
