Trotsky with Hitchens and Service [ read with my reference to SWP leader James P. Cannon's essay " The Treason of the Intellectuals " ]

Amazing how many ex-Trotskyists make a 180 degree turn to embrace global capitalism , American imperialism, and Israeli Zionism . The long dead -but still honorable - leader of the American Socialist Workers Party , James P. Cannon, observing this 20th century ( and now in the 21st century ) trend , wrote a still very relevant essay titled " The Treason of the Intellectuals ". Although I myself prefer to be an independent democratic socialist , I can recommend articles on the World Socialist Web Site written by Socialist Equality Party leader David North and others accusing Robert Service of a lack of intellectual integrity and Christopher Hitchens of being a scoundrel arch-traitor to the world socialist movement .
