Global capitalism , American imperialism , European Neo- Colonialism, and NATION-STATE worship in general cannot accept the fact that there are " LIMITS TO GROWTH " . Even a world SOCIALIST government at best can only make this world and its global economy less IRRATIONAL , less UNJUST . It can end abject misery in every country . But it cannot triumph over COSMIC LAW . Human life on this Blue Green Planet -like all life - will always be a struggle for existence. Nearly three decades after the "20th Century Experience " even the most stalwart democratic socialists( not connected to effete Marxist " vanguard party " sects ) have no vision of a science dominated " Workers Paradise " in the near or remote future . Imagine everyone in China and Africa and India driving a big car and possessing his or her own luxury boat ? The MEANING OF LIFE must be found outside smug swinish middle class consumption. The hubris of 20th and 21st century Science & Technology is taking us to the edge of the abyss ! While capitalism and militarism have already taken us to HELL ON EARTH . And perhaps the Catholic Church got it right after all : perhaps the best and most moral form of birth control is rational self-restraint ? Tame the beast within ! ( what would a revised Kinsey Report say about that ? )
