I can see the point of the homeless people stubbornly ( ? ) living ( or barely surviving ) in tents on the grounds of the Rhode State House. Years ago socialist writer Michael Harrington's book ( which helped inspire LBJ ill fated WAR ON POVERTY ) " The Other America " described the then INVISIBLE poor of many categories ( from Skid Row to the chronic unemployed ) - a shame on " OUR democracy ". Since the desperate homeless persons living in scattered tent communities across the state are not seen most of the time , or seldom catch the attention of the mainstream news media , these few homeless people at the State House -now with legal advocates - are indeed heroes of the Rhode Island homeless population. As a social EVIL homelessness is now DARKNESS VISIBLE in Rhode Island . How obtuse can our " progressive " Democrats be ?
