As a democratic socialist - shaped by orthodox Marxism - I have no fatuous reverence for ANY modern nation state , although I completely understand ordinary decent patriotic emotions. Not a Chinese Empire nor another American Century will save the human race from inevitable catastrophe. We still very much need a non-tyrannical WORLD GOVERNMENT . Can the nucleus of that government be other than the much maligned United Nations ? Of course , a nuclear WORLD WAR III will be planned only by mad, mad maniacs . Presently capitalist greed connected to imperialism is making world peace impossible. Perhaps the Chinese working class can help us bring down the American plutocracy without strengthening totalitarian government in China . Back to SOCIALIST INTERNATIONALISM !
