Subject: More OPEN public libraries ?
To: <letter@globe.com>

Are there no advocates for more OPEN public libraries here in Rhode Island ?    People who love just to BROWSE in public libraries are a forgotten minority .  And what can you do with one half-hour ( Warwick Public Library ) on those now not so public library computers ?      This public library scene is a Ray Bradbury nightmare . The severity of the shut down is hardly justified by THE FACTS .  Unlike bars, casinos , restaurants, public libraries are rarely CROWDED .  Masks and hand sanitizer should suffice to bring them back to normal.
Not everybody has daily access to personal computers. I spilled coffee on mine and ruined it .  The resources of most public libraries are infinitely superior to a solitary computer  and the divine INTERNET .
At the Cranston Public Library, some months ago, I was nearly scolded for lingering - STANDING UP - with a reference book : a big beautiful " Chronicle of the 20th Century " .     In this Corona Virus Pandemic you are invariably GUILTY OF PLAGUE until proven innocent by the proper authorities - like " Knock  It Off !  " Governor Gina Raimondo,  soon to be  our Secretary of Commerce .
In science fiction this pandemic could be described as " The Malthus Project ".    A  diabolical plan to  defund not the police , not the military , but the Social Security System.
Any such " paranoia " would get me banned on FACEBOOK .    Planned genocide in this benevolent world of FOR PROFIT capitalism is indeed THOUGHT CRIME .
