What an enigma Jack Barnes - " GREAT LEADER " of the Socialist Workers Party

I make no claim to scholar status in reviewing different groups on the " socialist " Left. But numerous sources, I think, honestly describe the American SWP as a degenerate Jack Barnes personality cult . Just how unprincipled it now is you can gather from this article in " The Militant " dated January 16, 2017 :

[The decision by the lame-duck administration of President Barack Obama to allow passage of a Dec. 23 United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israel weakens both the right of Israel to exist and the fight for the national interests of the Palestinian people. It gives the green light to anti-Semitic currents that call for destruction of the Jewish state — including Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions forces — and to those like reactionary Hamas in the Palestinian Gaza Strip that organizes terror actions against Jews in Israel and in West Bank settlements. And it encourages aggressive anti-Arab currents in Israel.]

Today new Democrat members of Congress are excoriated by Nancy Pelosi for deviating from the pro-Zionist line and the daily smear of " Anti-Zionism = Anti Semitism ".

 It is very hard to openly oppose this without being smeared yourself.

                 Never a member, I was proud to be a presidential elector here in Rhode Island for the Socialist Workers Party in 1976 and again in 1980 ( there is a public record ) . I lost touch with ALL " socialist " parties until fairly recently. At my age I have no choice but to remain " independent " and a critical supporter of any leftist political group that is friendly to TRUTH and opposed to rotten capitalism. I rarely disagree with any articled published here on the World Socialist Web Site. And I appreciate David North's defense of the leaders of the Russian Revolution , especially his writing on the " second assassination of Leon Trotsky " .

                  The working class simply must be the ONLY revolutionary class because they cannot collectively SELL OUT. They know the TRUTH about their own lives.

                The most charitable thing I can say about Old Barnes is that there might be a difference between confusion and betrayal.

                 I am reminded of James P. Cannon's warning to party members that the struggle for socialism has no need for robots .
