The vicious New McCarthyism strikes again. The U.S. ruling class is no more worried about protecting the innocence of children from sex predators than it was a few months ago - when all that mattered to " liberal " Democrats was the wickedness of Vladimir Putin even daring to meddle in " our " democracy. 

Whatever the truth in Maestro James Levine's case , he does remind me of the lonely homosexual author in Thomas Mann's " Death in Venice ". The professor fell in love with a strikingly beautiful boy.

 But in the book the " affair " is just Platonic and the professor dies of a heart attack while daydreaming of the youth ( a bit of a flirt ) . 

We democratic socialists see no need to ruin individuals for still taboo sexual passions. Is HUMAN SEXUALITY the real target of this witch hunting ? Recall " The Anti-Sex League " in George Orwell's " 1984 " ? When Winston Smith read Julia's note secretively handed to him ( " I Love You ! ") there welled up in his heart a desire to LIVE . ) Winston and young Julia meet and make love in the dreamed about " Golden Country " .... " We will meet in a place where there is no darkness ".
