This isolated, vulnerable bubble ( even with good, devoted parents ) UNIT of family should be replaced by more COMMUNAL family units - something like the old Chinese family system. 
In a class divided capitalist society it a cruel joke for a teacher to ask a poor working class kid : " What do you want to be when you grow up ? " As if it were all a matter of the right choice.
