I can sense a subtle ideological reason for hostility to calculus.
The subject focuses on the reality of CHANGE in the real physical world
and our own human social world. In formal logic A= A always and forever.
But in science any " A " is always in motion or in a state of constant
change. CHANGE is the constant even in our everyday life.
The psychological basis for conservatism is a fear of change - a clinging to the dead past. Nothing lasts - not the bull market, not empires, not the power of political bullies.
