Finance Capital hocus pocus : amazing how THE FED can just make 3
trillion dollars-representing some individuals' present or
future-concrete ,not abstract wealth-just disappear . But how is it
created in the first place-real wealth-like gold coins and luxury cars
and exquisite meals in upscale restaurants ? The invisible WIZARD
-mostly ignored by capitalist economics-is the mental and physical labor
of millions of working people. Profits are just surplus value that the
social position of the capitalists allows them to appropriate.
Right wing intellectuals who prate- in a hypocritical tone- about restoring the WORK ETHIC to the " under class " have no problem with the rich getting a lot of something for nothing.
No special talent, no remarkable aptitude, no intellectual skills, no athletic skills, no pretty face and gorgeous figure, no distinguished family history, no bravery in war ...justifies the present day economic inequality in America-or in any other prosperous nation.
This inequality is no small part of the explanation for a world at war and for these desperate acts of terrorism. " Democracy " is not working anymore. Perhaps because our government took the WE out of WE THE PEOPLE a very long time ago. And even the WE of the Constitution did not consult the ancestors of Geronimo or Martin Luther King or Alex Haley ( " The Autobiography of Malcolm X ).
