    Hate is an ugly reality in this ugly capitalist society. But the concept of " hate crime " should seem a little daffy to any socialist. How many murderers kill and torture their victims with no hate in their hearts ? Has any serial killer been accused of a hate crime ?
A society that makes life a competitive rat race breeds sociopaths and maniacal narcissists. We will extirpate hatred by locking up all the " haters " out there ?
Many killers are nice people in military uniform. They kill to the sound of trumpets with no hatred in their hearts.But back from combat they have nervous breakdowns for some reason.
Anybody who speaks the truth is in danger of being branded a dangerous " hater " too. Even if he or she is an old pacifist.
Think about this " hate crime " , folks. Soon the ONE PERCENT will claim to be victims of " hate crime " too .

Social Justice - "dead in the water" ?

Well known Rhode Island radio-TV news anchor Gene Valicenti (630wpro.com) says this morning -in passing- that President Obama's plan to TAX THE RICH is certainly "dead in the water."

What, the ONE PERCENT won't hear it?  But we are all one united patriotic family in the struggle against Islamic extremism and terrorism?

Should we working class people of the United States forge a fatuous alliance with our own exploiters and oppressors to punish the downtrodden Muslims of the world?

Shall we join hands with the bloodsuckers of this world in order to make the world safer for their bloodsucking? Bought and sold bourgeois intellectuals babble about international terrorism as if it had no connection to imperialism and global capitalism.

Is social justice "dead in the water" under Republican political domination? Just what kind of "democracy" does the U.S. prescribe for the world? Worth dying for?

Obama right to snub mass hysteria Islamophobia

 As a socialist I can only encourage mass action in the streets in defense of democratic values. But beware cant phrases like "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity: And "Free World." Can't we at least make our world safe for our ONE PERCENT plutocracy?

Forget about Equality and Fraternity. Not long ago our very patriotic Cold War fanatics wanted to end Godless Communism with a nuclear bang. I just heard right-wing Red Eye Radio here in Rhode Island ( 630wpro.com ) suggest the same thing for quickly ending the scourge of international terrorism. "Obama is weak!" they rant.

President Obama is wise to snub mass hysteria Islamo-phobia – in France or here in the United States. Cant phrases start wars- as in the Great War, the war to make the world "safe for democracy... the war to end all wars."

Would Ayn Rand ask you to die for bourgeois Free Speech? That is not in keeping with the "Virtue of Selfishness." And it is so cozy in your Wall Street office. $$$ is the business of America. Let working class suckers fight your wars!

Cant phrases start most wars: like FREE WORLD

Even professed atheist humanists like the late great science writer Isaac Asimov show prudent hesitation in publicly mocking God. Asked why he could not find HIM, Asimov replied: "Why can't HE find ME ?" Shortly afterwards Asimov had some bad luck with his health. He reasoned that a kind God would tolerate his intellectual confusion. "But would HE tolerate a wise guy?" he wondered.

But if the terrorists were exposed to Isaac Asimov in their more educable youth, they might have grown up-under the influence of scientific rationalism-to be harmless and oh-so-beloved socialists rather than suicidal, homicidal maniacs.

Right wing talk radio here in Rhode Island, USA, is suggesting that a few well placed atomic bombs will quickly end international terrorism. Let's save the FREE WORLD, they rant. But FREE WORLD was a cant phrase even at the height of the Cold War-when we were fighting GODLESS communism.

Cant phrases inspired our entry into the First World War-which was the "war to end all wars... to make the world safe for democracy. " Thank God the Russian Bolsheviks were not fooled!

And yes, what ringing eloquence in French: "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity." THAT is what global capitalism is all about.

Can we at least make our world safe for our ONE PERCENT plutocracy? Forget about EQUALITY and FRATERNITY!

Should Humanists embrace Ayn Rand?

How can Humanists best respond to injustice? Not in the rude, mean spirited manner of the New Atheists putting up obnoxious ads on Rhode Island Public Transit Authority buses: "Godless, so are we."

Does Logic & Reason culminate in a reactionary social philosophy? Should Humanists embrace the Ayn Rand cult? What does her crackpot atheist cult classic "The Virtue of Selfishness" have to offer black rage in the streets of America this past week? Do Humanists want to make common cause with our ONE PERCENT plutocracy? How many of these super-rich people are oh-so-enlightened atheists, having liberated themselves from the superstitious fear of Hell for the injustice they perpetuate here on earth?

Clearly the New Atheism is giving moral support to our government's Crusade Against Islam, spreading its oh-so-enlightened  Islam-o-phobia. A scandalous  TORTURE REPORT of prisoners of war is being released today. Put the military bases on alert against THEIR evil! The evil of ISIS!

As a long time SOCIALIST,  I must ask my fellow Humanists if they think they are above the CLASS STRUGGLE? Has the New Atheism made peace with U.S. imperialism? What does Reason & Logic have to say about the madness of the capitalist way of life?

I can't imagine joining a New Atheist club where a Hitler and a Lenin can exchange mocking jokes about Jesus Christ rising from the dead. And joking too about his gospel of Love. What a fool!

The crackpot atheist Ayn Rand, of course, worshipped MONEY. Do we embrace her?

NOTE:  Of course, there is a long tradition of Judeo-Christian humanism. Did organized atheism ever sponsor even a two-bit SOUP KITCHEN?

WATCHING AMERICA - Race in America

As a citizen of the United States, I am all ears to even "part of the solution" to the tragedy of race relations in America.  But as a democratic Socialist I can only chuckle at "improving the faith in the black community in the country's institutions."

To be sure, the courts and the police are completely subservient to our ONE PERCENT plutocracy. The police– with all due RESPECT– are correctly perceived to be the human pit bulls of PRIVATE PROPERTY. Young blacks-invariably POOR BLACKS–involved in the most petty crimes against property- set themselves up for ON THE SPOT execution by armed cops "just doing our job."

Only greater social and economic equality can deliver better justice here-even for tens of millions of poor working class white Americans.

As the black firebrand revolutionary Malcolm X said long ago: "Show me a capitalist and I'll show you a bloodsucker!"

But I expect the Neo-Democrat Party to continue to racialize POVERTY IN AMERICA. Isn't a 21st century New Deal preferable to bloody disorder?

This Society has a race problem ...... WATCHING AMERICA

I am a citizen of the United States and a registered Democrat (more a democratic Socialist) in the beautiful state of Rhode Island. Outraged by the Ferguson decision, many blacks here-with their white and latino supporters- on the day after, blocked interstate Route 95 for nearly an hour.

It was all rather foolish, I think. But it shows that alienation in American capitalist society is reaching a breaking point among the nation's have–nots. For too long Neo-Democrat inspired "political correctness" has racialized  POVERTY IN AMERICA. I can't imagine a million homeless white people identifying with our ONE PERCENT ruling class in common hostility to "lawless and rioting" black people.

The vast majority of white people are just unpretentious working class people who create the wealth and fight the foolish wars of our ruling class. They know that the MAJESTIC LAW swindles the common people.

I am by disposition a believer in non-violent social change. But I wonder if the assassinated black revolutionary firebrand Malcolm X is more relevant today to Afro-Americans than Martin Luther King. Malcolm's last year alive is very interesting to left-wing scholars. He was invited to speak before enthusiastic liberal audiences, mostly radicalized white students. "Show me a capitalist", Malcolm said passionately, "and I'll show you a bloodsucker!".

Will Washington D.C. soon look like Cairo, Egypt in 2011? PEACE!
