[ "Why Christopher Hitchens Rejected God — His Most Powerful Explanation " ] Please supply a few quotes from Christopher Hitchens here

While the first two were valid criticism, Hitchens was proudly anti Zionistic, calling it "a waste of Judaism". He condemned their genocide of the Palestinians and the stealing of their land repeatedly, condemning it as a racist and messianic delusion.
Now for his condoning of the war on terror? That is something we can criticise him for. But don't accuse him for being the opposite of what he was.
I think you might have mistaken him for Sam Harris, who is a Zionist now, and who I personally condemn as such.

@nkyfong Please supply a few quotes from Christopher Hitchens here . I got my impression of his politics from reading " God Is Not Great - how religion poisons everything ". In 2003 he was very much pro-American imperialism and pro-Israeli Zionism in supporting the Bush invasion and occupation of Iraq . For that he completely alienated American leftist author Gore Vidal .
[ "why did american leftist author turn on leftist british author christopher hitchens ? " ]The primary reason American leftist authors turned on the British-American author Christopher Hitchens was his full-throated support for the 2003 invasion of Iraq and the broader Post-9/11 "War on Terror".Once a foundational voice of the Anglo-American radical left and a longtime columnist for the progressive magazine The Nation, Hitchens sharply broke away from his longtime allies over their response to Islamic extremism. This caused an ideological rift that permanently severed many of his closest professional and personal relationships. The division unfolded across several key points of conflict:1. The Post-9/11 Fallout and the Debate with Noam ChomskyImmediately following the September 11 attacks, Hitchens was appalled by what he perceived as a "tepid" and masochistic response from Western leftists. He famously engaged in a fierce, public exchange of letters in The Nation with famed American leftist intellectual Noam Chomsky. Hitchens argued that the left was making moral excuses for "fascism with an Islamic face" and drawing false equivalences between Western foreign policy and the atrocities committed by Al-Qaeda.2. Resignation from The NationIn 2002, Hitchens officially resigned from The Nation, declaring that the magazine and its readers had come to view U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft as a greater threat than Osama bin Laden. Leftist peers viewed his departure not just as a disagreement on foreign policy, but as a total moral defection to neoconservatism and American imperialism.3. Championing the Iraq WarThe definitive breaking point was Hitchens’ intense campaigning for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. While the American left mobilized heavily against the Iraq War, Hitchens actively aligned with the Bush administration, using his platform to advocate for military intervention. Fellow leftists like Tariq Ali, Alexander Cockburn, and Eric Alterman publicly condemned him for cheering on actions—such as the bombing of Fallujah—that resulted in heavy civilian casualties.4. Prior Left-Wing GrievancesThough 9/11 was the catalyst, Hitchens had already spent the 1990s alienating American liberals. He wrote a scathing book aggressively targeting Bill Clinton, whom he viewed as a serial rapist and a pathological liar. During Clinton's impeachment trial, Hitchens went so far as to sign an affidavit against his own friend, Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal, which many on the left viewed as a personal and political betrayal. He also drew ire from leftists for supporting NATO intervention in Bosnia, defending the British military in the Falklands War, and minimizing anti-Columbus Day protests. To his critics, Hitchens had abandoned his Marxist roots to become an apologist for U.S. empire. To Hitchens, it was the left that had betrayed its principles of secularism, human rights, and anti-fascism by failing to oppose totalitarian religious extremism.Debates & CritiquesWikipedia·en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_views_of_Christopher_HitchensPolitical views of Christopher Hitchens - Wikipedia
Hitchens argued that instead of supporting Zionism, Jews should help "secularise and reform their own societies", believing that unless one is religious, "what the hell are you doing in the greater Jerusalem area in the first place?" Hitchens said that the only justification for Zionism given by Jews is a religious one.
Now for American imperialism? Yeah, let's criticise him for that. That part is not something I agree with him on.

@nkyfong The problem is that for decades now American imperialism and Israeli Zionism have been inseparable . How does supporting the" Jew War " in the Middle East make you anti-Zionist ? I suspect that late in his alcoholic life Christopher Hitchens' mind was all fogged up with contradictions . But his cult book " God Is Not Great " -is clear enough .

@ronruggieri9817 , to clarify, I am against the genocide of the Palestinians and I am also against America's war of aggression against Iran. Please don't put words in my mouth.
Also, we don't worship him. We study his philosophy the same we do for Plato and Socrates. We take the good, acknowledge the bad is useless to us and then compare it with other philosophies.
