Trump calls Chicago ‘most dangerous city in the world’ in new post [ How is Chicago in 2025 any different from Paris in 1789 ? ]
Reading this YouTube headline I was reminded of a quote from a Charles Dickens ' novel I had to read in a high school English class long ago in the " Tumultuous Sixties " : I GOOGLED for it just now :
[ "The most relevant quote from A Tale of Two Cities about the destructive effect of oppression comes from the final chapter, when the narrator reflects on the fate of the revolutionaries. It is a warning that crushing people under a cruel system will inevitably lead to violence and a perversion of humanity:
Crush humanity out of shape once more, under similar hammers, and it will twist itself into the same tortured forms. Sow the same seeds of rapacious license and oppression over again, and it will surely yield the same fruit according to its kind. " ]
