Are we entering a second Permian Age - the " Age of the Great Dying " ?

Anyone introduced to Zoology I in college might wonder if we are entering - quite apart from climate change drama - a New Permian Age - a second " Age of the Great Dying " . Puny even high tech homo sapiens - is no match for the colossal forces in the Earth that created " SNOWBALL EARTH " or " Molten Lava Earth " millions of years ago . And can do it all again despite ECO-fanaticism. We just live in a violent universe . Just witness the craters on the Moon , the craters on Venus. A scary vision of Super Nova explosions and colliding galaxies from the Hubble telescope. Every day now the Cosmos tells us homo-sapiens just how dubiously " precious " we are. Perhaps nuclear World War III will only hasten THE END ? But then we might all meet again in A PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO DARKNESS - inside a black hole !
