Just a few years ago BLACK LIVES MATTER rallies featured Palestinian flag waving . As a longtime independent democratic socialist I could only applaud this display of international working class solidarity. Working class people everywhere can easily distinguish the OPPRESSOR from the OPPRESSED. The mainstream news media in the United States is nearly deranged in its bias toward the oppressed , dispossessed Palestinians. Way back in 1965 Black Muslim Malcolm X made a connection between racism and capitalism , between racism and imperialism ( including ZIONISM ). Corrupt , senile , creepy Joe Biden's Democratic Party is in a very contradictory situation. Daily with its vicious IDENTITY POLITICS it panders dishonestly to the Black community. At the same time it is packed with militant pro-ZIONISTS. " IDENTITY POLITICS " does nothing to raise Black people in America above their WORKING CLASS status which they share with many more millions of White people. If Malcolm X were alive today , he would scold Black voters for being "hopelessly devoted to YOU " phony liberal Democrats. What ALL working class people in the United States need is an American Labor Party -a lot like the British Labor Party but less muddled and compromised. Is it any mystery that hopeless young Blacks regress to " lumpen-proletariat " misbehavior ? A " Black crime wave " is not explained by racist ideas.
