Inspired from youth by Albert Camus' sense of the Absurd, I try to be a voice for REASON in the growing darkness and moral insanity of global capitalism .

Where Ben & Jerry's go wrong in their social justice zealotry
As a longtime independent democratic socialist I was pleased that at least a few of Ben & Jerry's public views on controversial issues conform to a long history of TRADITIONAL Jewish liberalism . For example , they seem to oppose US involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war. They are clearly cynical about Israeli Zionism. But returning land wholesale to present day Native Americans is no more practical than exorbitant " reparations " for Black slavery. ( Also it is more important that Jews and Palestinians get along in ONE country -as EQUAL citizens - than that the Palestinians should have a hostile separate ISLAMIC state for themselves ).
Perhaps there are limits to how entrenched capitalists can understand the LOGIC of their own economic system. In general , modern WAGE SLAVERY which is the real REALITY for working class Black people and still oppressed Native Americans demands a COLLECTIVE solution. To the routine exploitation and oppression of the vast majority of Americans of all races and ethnic groups.
As long as capitalist-landlord PRIVATE PROPERTY is legally sacrosanct most social justice causes in " OUR democracy " are doomed to frustration. To be sure , any blind loyalty to the now WOKE WARRIOR Democratic Party is pathetically self-defeating.
