Perhaps We Need a New " New Left " ?

As a democratic socialist I have long viewed the American TWO PARTY SYSTEM as fundamentally rigged by our sinister plutocracy . It is indeed rigged against " OUR democracy " . So I cannot honestly condemn angry fans of President Donald Trump for feeling left out of THE SYSTEM. Angry masses AND revolution - desired or abhorred - are FACTS of History . For me that half-mad crowd outside the White House, although from the socialist point of view REACTIONARY , nevertheless showed the specter of the Great French Revolution of 1789. A specter that still strikes fear and trembling in the souls of the now capitalist ruling classes. So does the Russian Revolution of 1917 - " Ten Days That Shook The World " . But I cannot take the events of January 6, 2021 seriously as attempted insurrection . It was more like the Far Left YIPPIE THEATER tactics of the Vietnam War era. The whole " ultra-Left " foolishness back then was to " manipulate the media " and terrify the bourgeoisie . Sober democratic socialists knew that such THEATER tactics would backfire : there was no substitute for ORGANIZING THE MASSES beginning with PEACEFUL street demonstrations. Perhaps we need a new New Left ?
