Laundry room rip off: Yesterday I was concerned about my neglected laundry. I needed enough quarters to do two loads in the laundry room at Randall Manor( PUBLIC HOUSING ) in Cranston. Oddly enough , CITIZENS BANK in Garden City said they had no quarters. Back at my apartment in section B I thought I might just have enough quarters in my little tin box to do the job.. So I went to the laundry room and nobody was around. ( Perhaps nobody was around , I thought , because the washing and drying machines - and so few of them ! - were often broken down ) . Sure enough for the second time in a month one of the three washing machines took 7 quarters from me and would not turn on or return my change. By interrupting the one hour drier after 30 minutes I managed to do the two loads . Shirts did not need as much heat time as towels. A sign tells users in the laundry to be polite and considerate of other users. But the company is not very courteous in neglecting these often useless thieving washing machines. How am I to get my lost money back ? Will they send me a check or a gift certificate for the next- sure to be frustrating- visit to the Randall Manor laundry room ?
