Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump qualify as " baby boomers " -
belonging to a generation shaped - and too often corrupted- by the
tumultuous 60s.
Whatever idealism 99 percent of them once possessed it is now a spent generation. It should be pushed aside by a younger generation with bleak future to live in under brainless, violent, earth destroying global capitalism.
I do commend Green Party candidate Jill Stein for encouraging young voters not to vote for " lesser evil " candidates like " Wall St. Hillary ".
It is no surprise that so many working class " deplorables " see right wing nationalist Donald Trump as the lesser evil.
I did vote for Ralph Nader and Jill Stein -with no regrets. As a democratic socialist I have some doubts about Stein's anti-capitalism. But I have never been turned off by her intelligent political views.
I am well aware of annoying sectarianism on the best of the Left. In general, they all need closer contact with the real working class " basket of deplorables ".
And too many " intellectuals " on the left have a supercilious or contemptuous attitude toward the world's great religions . Did not the ancient Jewish concept of monotheism presage the unity of humanity - many centuries before DNA testing ?
