The Providence Journal preaches HIGH ETHICAL STANDARDS in local politics. For that reason former Providence Mayor Vincent "Buddy" Cianci flunks your test- period.
Also, you just ran an editorial about shady female Rhode Island mayor favoring HER kid and his pals for summer jobs. Not quite in Cianci's league but I am sure she got your SHAPE UP message.
However, if I were an employee of the Providence Journal, would I want to deal with one Thomas J. McDonough, age 50, of 7 Birch View Court who was "arrested Sunday (Nov.2013) and charged with domestic assault." ?
He is vice president of human resources and LABOR RELATIONS at the Providence Journal Co. His wife Paula told police that he lunged at her while she was calling the police and TWISTED HER ARM to get the phone. Two children backed up her story, reported by Randal Edgar on November 10,2013.
There were no comments on this story. By executive privilege, I suspect, the charge of domestic violence against Thomas J. McDonough were dropped. On that story one comment by a guy named Poirier throws gasoline on this domestic fire: He HOPED it was possible for McDonough to charge his wife (?) with making a fake accusation!
I can see the name Thomas J. McDonough at the bottom of the top executive list of NEW MEDIA GROUP Inc. And above it: Edward C. Achorn, Vice president.
Is Thomas J. a closet Cianci supporter? Many of the readers of the Providence Journal would forgive him for that.
