2000 New Year flashback

My New year 2000: asleep by midnight !

The year 2000 has great psychological significance for me - a lot to think about. Since I share Mr. Whitcomb's aversion to the relentless NOISE around us - and since I am sick of 2000 hype- I plan to seek Peace & Quiet on New Years Eve . A very meditative hour or two and then -hopefully - I shall be contemptuously sound asleep by midnight. And blissfully refreshed in the morning assessing the first day of New Times.

The BIG NEWS of the morning : " Boris Yeltsin is back in the hospital ... " ? People will conclude that the coming of 2000 was the biggest dud since the Edsel. And a dud will be elected President of the United States in November 2000. Gore ? Bush ? What difference does it make ? And the Red Sox will blow it again late in October. And Buddy Cianci is still being investigated ....

And I'll still be writing letters : " It's damm capitalism , you see ..

STOP CRUCIFYING PRESIDENT TRUMP !

Very much ON THE LEFT myself- indeed a long time independent democratic socialist- I have rejected this Kafkaesque Trump impeachment circus for three long years . Now the circus must go to the US Senate . But the Republicans - so nasty in contrast to so nice , PROGRESSIVE Democrats - must first promise to rise above petty political partisanship and promise to go along with the Democrats - ALL of them above politics here in the great tradition of the Founding Fathers , of course ! A simple point even Harvard Law School scholars can understand : where there is no named CRIME there can be no obstruction of justice . STOP CRUCIFYING PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP - a still LEGITIMATE president of the United States .

An unholy alliance of Marxist cults and the New Atheism will never win over the American working class

The mainstream news media is also feeding a pseudo-Left cult presently intoxicated with " progressive " Democrat GROUP THINK. The HATE TRUMP, IMPEACH TRUMP, HATE RUSSIA New McCarthyism also rises to brainless , KNOW NOTHING cult status. Right out of Orwell's " 1984 " with daily " TWO MINUTES HATE " for white working class Christians confused enough to vote for President Donald Trump.

And famously " liberal " and " progressive " NPR can hardly be distinguished from a Zionist Jew country club .

I speak as a lifelong independent democratic socialist presently doing a modest research project on Marxist-Leninist-Trotskyist cults and sects. There is an abundance of objective research on this topic.

Why- oh- why should working class Christian Americans flock to the party of Nancy Pelosi and Zionist-in- Chief Senator Chuck Schumer and billionaire presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg ? ( slightly to the right of fake " socialist " Bernie Sanders ) .

Why should tens of millions of decent, working class, Christian Americans flock to any Marxist sect in an unholy alliance with the New Atheists ?


Yes , while SOCIALISM is in the air , hardly a discredited ideal, the organized Left , the various VANGUARD socialist parties, are floundering in futility . There is no " market " for godless totalitarianism or the " dictatorship of the proletariat " . Does the Left want a Stalinist Revival ? Their disdain for the FREE SPEECH , FREE THOUGHT tradition of Western Civilization suggests that .
Any credible Marxist party would have experienced exponential growth since the Great Recession year 2008 . They have no roots in the real working class . And never will .

CLASS blind law ? Or the Law is an ass ?

Letter: Dan D'Alessio: Punish drivers who cut a funeral line with a $1,000 fine

I would like to address Mary Ellen Lukasiewicz's Dec. 13 letter ("Busy, mean-spirited motorists show no respect for funeral"). I am in total agreement with the writer that the person who cut in a funeral line was more than just too busy, mean-spirited and was disrespectful. He or she was actually breaking the law. Unfortunately, the law only carries a $25 fine. The bill was introduced by the owner of Alosio Insurance of North Providence before it became law. That prompted me to write my first "Letter to the Editor," which was followed by a copy of the law sent to me by Alosio Insurance...

          Does Dan D'Alessio  and other readers of the Providence Journal - including the esteemed editor - ever ask themselves just how CLASS blind is the law  ( yes , of course, we are a nation of laws . Thank God for sacrosanct LAW no matter how  blatantly unjust ) ?           In brief : a rich and rude guy can pay that $ 1000 fine in court and leave with a smirk on his face and no loss of comfort or human dignity . A working class man- a jewel in the rough- or a pauper with a valid driver's license ( and a heart of gold ) can be ruined by such a fine. It could hurt an innocent family.  An eviction is possible or a mortgaged home lost. A family can go hungry for a month .                Even a century ago you need not be a devoted reader of Charles Dickens or a red flag waving communist to conclude : " The law is an ass " .
