When I was a high school student back in the early post-McCarthy era 1960s we were lectured in a " liberal " Kennedy era way about the " communist " menace in " OUR democracy ". We could even read the dangerous " Communist Manifesto " but with an even longer introduction explaining that somehow ( by the grace of God ) American capitalism had created a mostly MIDDLE CLASS or more upwardly mobile population. And , of course, the COMFORTABLE middle class ( or getting there ) now lived in a country where, according to a July 4, 1955 Life Magazine editorial : " Nobody Is Mad At Nobody " . Nope , no COMMUNISM brewing here ! But then came the " Tumultuous Sixties " and the great Youth Rebellion( Recall Jerry Rubin's " DO IT and " F---K Amerika ?) Their latent rebelliousness and " critical thinking " skills were focused on THE SYSTEM , on capitalism and American imperialism, and soon Israeli Zionism . Then came the soporific and reactionary Regan- Bush era - and a blacker reaction ,with the second term of MAGA Republican Donald Trump and his Neo-Nazi ZIONIST Jew regime which has not ended today . Just where in what is left of " OUR democracy " today is " critical thinking " directed at the social evils of capitalism , American imperialism , and Israel Zionism ? In the " professional journalism " of the mainstream news media ? On local Talk Radio ? ( Hi, Gene Valicenti , 630 WPRO ) In outstanding public schools and colleges ? TRUTH is an orphan in " OUR democracy " and perhaps in the whole world ! But my humble blog is devoted to it ( enduring many snarky replies )
