He was really a brilliant guy. Best teacher I had on the subject matter for sure. One day, we got into a discussion about his religious beliefs, and it was a masterclass in compartmental thinking. He was convinced that while logic and reason is the best way to understand the `physical` world around us, that process fails for understanding the `spiritual` world around us, and trying to use the scientific method, for example, to understand the `spiritual world,` would be like trying to use a stick, to turn a bolt.
