What Killed the "New Atheism"? [ Interesting comment from a returned Catholic ]

As a longtime independent democratic socialist I see the New Atheism Cult roadshow celebs actually contributing to " The End of Science " . Telling fairly well educated but still religious people that " our Universe came from nothing " (Lawrence Kraus ) is a fatuous no- winner. Also , I note that the New Atheist YouTube evangelists never apply their oh-so-superior powers of REASON & LOGIC to the very irrational system of global capitalism, apply it to very irrational and EVIL American imperialism and Israeli Zionism. In fact, they seem to be Islamophobic , warmongering shills for all three. Just read the late ,always drunken, New Atheist god, Christopher Hitchens' book " GOD IS NOT GREAT - how religion poisons everything " to see what I mean. Interesting comment from a return Catholic [ "I was raised with a nominally Catholic upbringing- a religious mother who didn't go to church at that time (but still tried to instill Christian values), and an (hostile) atheist father. I became an angry, insufferable new atheist, until about 5 or 6 years ago when I reverted back to Catholic Christianity. I'm trying, and failing, to convince my dad to abandon his atheism. Ever since my reversion, he makes snide comments about religion and God around me. I don't let it bother me, instead trying to have thoughtful conversations with him- I've even recommended books which he refuses to read. He refuses to have a conversation that isn't totally one sided and spiteful. We have an otherwise good relationship, but it saddens me that he's living this way. He's clearly not a happy man.
