The insanity of the Great War made life seem meaningless to many of the young men who survived it
I just viewed this film . Well acted but I think it strays from the underlying themes of the Hemingway story " Soldier's Home ". Like : Does the EXPERIENCED insanity of war together with its high sounding phrases, all the Wilsonian blather of the First World War, make life and conventional goals seem MEANINGLESS to the young men who SURVIVED the war ?
